An investigative journalist who has filed from every front in the Grunts world, Dan trades a rifle for a camera and a notebook. He embeds with the squads and tells their stories — but he is also the one who keeps pulling the thread nobody else will: a quiet trail of shell companies, ghost flights, and backdoored hardware that leads toward the truth of who is really running the war. He keeps walking into the places everyone else is running out of.
